how it all began

Savannah Smoke Grill is built on one thing - doing good food, properly.

Behind it all is Tevin Clarke, founder and the man on the grill. Born in Trinidad and Tobago and now based in Stowmarket, Suffolk with his British wife and daughter, Tevin brings together Caribbean roots, family tradition, and a real passion for cooking that’s been there from the start. With both parents working as chefs back home in Trinidad, food was always part of life - and that path naturally led him into culinary training and, eventually, building something of his own.

A love for bold flavour, street food, and authentic charcoal BBQ came together to create a brand focused on quality, consistency, and food that people genuinely enjoy. Not overcomplicated - just well-made, full of flavour, and done right every time.

That approach carries through everything Savannah Smoke Grill does. It’s not just about what’s on the menu, but how it’s served - the grill, the pace, the atmosphere around the stand. Whether it’s a busy festival, a private event, or a local pop-up, the aim is always the same: serve great food and create something people remember.

Over time, that consistency has built a loyal following, with customers coming back again and again for the flavours they know us for. Every event, every service, every plate reflects the same hands-on approach Tevin brings to the business.

As Savannah Smoke Grill continues to grow, that standard doesn’t change. No shortcuts, no compromises - just food made with heart, soul, and a bit of swagger.

We’re proud to have been named Food & Drink Vendor of the Year at the 2026 Norfolk & Suffolk Food & Drink Awards.

After two rounds of judging and some seriously strong competition,
Savannah Smoke Grill took home the win - with the judges describing our food as “awesome, sumptuous and well presented.”

For Tevin, it’s a pretty special moment. What started with a love of cooking, Caribbean flavours and doing food properly has grown into something people genuinely seek out - and apparently, it really stacks up against some other incredible vendors across the region!
